Smoothies, fresh juices, and other healthy drinks don't get enough credit. They are super nutritious, easy to put together, and taste delicious if you have a good recipe on hand. Having one smoothie or juice per day is a great way to add fruits and veggies into your diet. I'm sharing 5 of my favorite recipes below that can become your new breakfast or lunch.

1. Basil Beet Juice

A Spicy Perspective

This juice is absolutely delicious! To make it easier, you can prep your veggies and fruits beforehand.

You will need: 1 beet, 1 apple, 2-3 carrots, 1/2 cup of basil, and 1.5 cups of water.

Wash and chop your ingredients and add them to a blender. Once blended, use a mesh sieve to separate the pulp from the juice. You can add 1-2 scoops of protein powder in here as well.

2. Iced Strawberry Milk Matcha Latte

Half Baked Harvest

Matcha is an excellent substitute for coffee. By adding strawberries, this drink is perfect for breakfast.

You will need: 1.5 cup of milk, 2-3 tbs of strawberry jam (or fresh strawberries), and 1/2 tsp of vanilla for the strawberry milk

2 tsp matcha powder, 2 tbs hot water, 1/2 tsp of lavendar or honey (optional) for the matcha.

Combine the ingredients of the milk for the strawberry milk and then mix the matcha ingredients together with a whisk. Pour the strawberry milk over ice and add the matcha.

5. Super-powered Orange Juice

Minimalist Baker

Orange juice 2.0 has arrived. This is the recipe that you'll keep coming back to because of the taste and flavor.

You will need: 1/4 cup of orange juice (fresh is ideal), 3 tbs lemon juice, 1 nectarine, 1 apple, 1 tbs fresh ginger (peeled), 4-6 carrots, 3-4 springs mint, and 1-2 cups of water.

Mix all ingredients in a blender. If you prefer the pulp, then you can drink it as is. Otherwise, use a strainer or a towel to separate pulp from the juice.
